    Good First Beer?

Hey All, just wondering if anyone could recommend a good, flavorful first beer recipe for me? I'll be using a 6 gallon carboy. I was thinking pale ale? Thanks!

    Pitch More Yeast?

2 days ago I pitched about 2/3 - 3/4 of a pack of Nottingham ale yeast onto my 5.25 gallon cider. I figured since it was an 11 gram pack I wouldn't need the whole thing. Airlock is bubbling once every 2 -3 seconds, looks like it's fermenting nicely. Should I pitch the rest in there?

Nottingham Ale Yeast, Packet is Stiff

Hey all. I just got an 11 g packet of Nottingham Ale Yeast, and the packet is quite hard but pliable. I'm gonna try and rehydrate it and hope it works. Any thoughts? I would hate to waste 5 gallons of juice with this stuff.

    Howdy HBTers

Hey All. Just wanted to do a quick into. I'm currently brewing some ciders. A 1 gal Apfelwein and tomorrow hopefully UpstateMikes Caramel Apple Hard Cider. Sounds too good to pass up. I'm definitely new to HB but am catching on fairly quickly due to you fine folks on this forum! :o
