Ohio Whiskey Barrel For Sale in Cincinnati Area

Hello Everyone. 2 years ago a friend of mine gave me a whiskey barrel as a wedding present. It is a large barrel, and I don't know a great deal about it, nor can I ask him as he would be upset to see me part with such a well thought out gift. I really reall like it and thought for a long time...

    The Dark Crystal

I have one thing to say about the Dark Crystal and it is about the party scene roughly 1/2 way through the movie. The party that gets broken up by the giant insect squad. That party looks awesome! Everyone is having an amazing time in that scene. Too bad it gets ruined.

    "Skip" Brew Beer

I did a 75 minute mash bouncing all over between 145 and 158, though it spent more time near 145 than 158 ... I've never done BIAB in a before and temp control was definitely not my strong suit last night. It is fermenting like the devil right now (I'm assuming that if the devil were to...

    "Skip" Brew Beer

I actually agree with you. I have 10oz remaining and the goal was to use up everything I had left. I think I'm bumping from 3 to 4 gallon, from 1.5# to 2# of carapils, and then cutting back the BPM to 4oz; however. Should be interesting. It may not be good, but lets hope it is drinkable!

    "Skip" Brew Beer

How did it turn out? I just remembered that I have 3#s of Carapils ... Now I'm thinking of making 4 gallons with the following: Ingredients: ------------ 3 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) 1 lbs 8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) 1 lbs...

    "Skip" Brew Beer

When I was growing up we would occasionally have a dinner where we just purged the fridge of left overs. Usually on a Thursday night. Dinner that night was called "Skip" (mom coined the phrase). Well, I was just going through my grain store noticed that I have very little left (with some of...

Those look like empty cans used as tiny buckets to me. I'm almost tempted by this, but really I'd only want about 50% of those items.

Whole House Water Filter - What to do when not Brewing?

I recently put together something like the following: http://www.midwestsupplies.com/10-water-filter-system.html My question ... what do I do with it between brew sessions? Should I drain the water? Dry the filter out? Just leave it?

    Configuring Beersmith for my Equipment

Good Morning! I'm planning a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Clone (All Grain) for this weekend in Beersmith, and I realize ... I have no idea how closely BeerSmith is configured for my equipment. The software is extremely capable of telling me all sorts of fine details about my brews, but I have no...

    Flow Rates with Liquid Pump

I am considering getting a liquid pump and to begin setting up a Brutus 20 type system (2 tier, single flame under the BK). As I've never used a march pump, I'm curious how easy it is / how to set the flow rate.

Best single addition to your brew day procedure

I was also told that letting your brew water sit overnight allows for the chlorine to escape (if you're using tap water). Right now my all grain brew day is about 7 hours with no prep, but I like the idea of prepping the day before. I've thought about doing my MASH the day before the brew (I...

I was scolded at LHBS today when I told em I don't usually use a secondary

I use buckets for primary and glass for secondary. I used to use glass for both, but I much prefer plastic for the primary. I like using the glass carboys mainly because it makes me feel like a mad wizard. I rack most of my beers to secondary, but I'd say I 20% just go through a long haul...
