    Nitro Session IPA w/o Nitrogen

So I created a sessionable IPA and I wanted to add milk sugar to it. Well turns out my opinion is it drinks like it is on Nitro thick dense head with a thick mouthfeel. That could be the flaked wheat as well. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Recipe 2-row 86% Honey Malt 5%...

    Hit Target Gravity

Hey everyone I created a web app (can be used on mobile) to determine if you will hit your target gravity or not. Currently it does not account for adding fermentables in the boil. Let me know what you think! http://boo-urns.github.io/hit-target-gravity/app/#/

Mash overnight or Mash out for boil next morning?

I'm going to be demonstrating a mash for a group soon which will be in the evening. I was curious if I should just keep the mash going all night or mash out and cover it to boil in the morning. I've seen some threads that they mash all night but the mash will most likely be started mid evening.

OG is low IBU would be higher?

I brewed an imperial stout a few weeks ago and started thinking. Since I had sparge / water issues and my OG came out a LOT lower than expected and I stuck to the same hop schedule wouldn't my IBU's be much higher? http://www.brewtoad.com/recipes/night-train-2

    Mash Chemistry / Water profile

This is my first time adjusting my water profile for brewing. I'm brewing a Russian Imperial Stout. Do I add the gypsum and calcium chloride to the mash and i'm good to go? Or do I spread it out for the mash / sparge...

    Noob to Lagering

I haven't found much via search/google on lagering times or when or when not to d-rest. From what I've gathered primary fermentation check out what yeast you're using and ferment around that 50-55. Then when fermentation is done bring it up to low 60s for a few days. Then step it down to ~35...

    How to Store Spent Grain

I was curious how you guys store spent grain. Do you dry it in the oven let it dry naturally on the counter or other? I want to make some food with it http://brooklynbrewshop.com/themash/category/spentgrainchef/ They have an article to dry it in 7 hours but I'm taking off after I brew so in...

    Too much roasted barley!

I attempted to convert one of my extract recipes to all grain. In the extract recipe I used 1# of roasted barley, .25# black patent. (I used a bottle to crush them) For the all grain version I used 1# roasted barley, 1# midnight wheat no black patent. Is there anyway to smooth out this beer? It...

    open co2 regulator gauge?

So my tank and gauges fell off the keezer hump and dented the floor. Upon inspection the gauge that reads the pressure in the tank the inside shifted and kind of dented. I unhooked it but can't seem to open it up. Any suggestions? Or just grab a new gauge for $8-11 bucks.

OK to keg beer when I have a cold?

I have a head cold and was wondering if it would be fine to keg the beer. I know beer should kill most things. The thought just crossed my mind. I don't want my guests to get a cold from my beer!

Add Cherry Extract or leave it?

I just tasted the sample of my cherry wheat. I used 5lbs fresh cherries (5gal batch) and didn't really notice much cherry flavor coming through. Primary 2 weeks Secondary with cherries for 10 days. Should I add some cherry extract or just leave it and chalk it up as just a wheat beer...

Another CO2 leak question - pressure rising

I have the dual regulator for my 2 kegs. I've had one keg carb'd for about 3-4 weeks just fine, no loss in co2. I hooked my other keg up the other day all seems good. Then after a few days I started noticing my co2 amount I have left dropping. So clearly I have a leak somewhere. My question...

    Regulator Position?

I am a total newb to kegging. I want to put my co2 tank on the hump of my chest freezer, but with the regulator attached the lid does not close. Can I have the gauges parallel to the floor? I know you can do a collar build, but I do not want too much beer stuff going on. Need to keep the wife...

Kick in the Mouth - Irish Red

So I brewed my first beer an Irish red extract kit from midwest. Dang is it good however I'm running out! ha. Anyway I was wondering why it seems that the first taste of the beer is kind of like a kick in the mouth, then after that it is smooth on to the bottom of the glass. 1 week...

    Hello Everyone from Central Illinois

Hey everyone, Just got interested in brewing and have brewed my first batch. Not bad not amazing. Seems like there is no body to the beer even though I hit the FG dead on. OG was barely low. 1 week in Primary racked to secondary for 2 weeks and currently had 2 weeks in the bottle. I have...
