Thanks for the write up on Glycol, that was my issue. I actually found the correct Glycol at Tractor Supply of all places. If I keep the unit I'll do a reservoir. Instant fix on #1 and the graphs look much better!

Can you link the redit article? I've had a heck of a time with my Aubrin PID's wildly fluctuating temps, issues where I set the temp and the RTD temp will just scroll. etc.

Couldn't agree more on HERMS. I initially used 3/8 Id. At 50'. Ramp up times were awful. I've since gone 1/2" id. Much better.

I can agree with insulating it well, I just never had the accuracy of simply taping it with out some bubble wrap etc. Just saying a thermowell works nicely if you don't mind spending 15$. I just got tired of having to tape something up. By all means if you have a system that works it's golden...

I'm not sure that is accurate, when fermenting we are concerned about the beer's temp during fermentation not the ambient surrounding air. This is why you would have a thermawell in place optimally to monitor the fermentation temperature and adjust as needed. Example my IPA might want to...

I built an electric brewery just about a year ago, live just south of OKC in Bridgecreek, it's based on the Electric Brewery design with parts from electric brewery supply.

Needing a plug for a kettle that was used for electric. It's threaded for an element. Looks like 1"npsm. Anyone have a source?

I knew better than not protect them...yup blew 2. One as soon as you set the temp the top line starts to just randomly change. The other one is just wonky. So looks like I'm buying 2 and I've since protected them.
