    Ended up brewing that cider and your description was spot in. Though my fermentation took 30 hours to kick off. I pitched in Saturday might and it didn't start bubbling till around midday today. (I assume since it wasn't when I left for work this morning.)

    So I bought the following: 1 1/3 yd. Polyester fabric for Inner lining (They sold me the extra for a discount.) 1 yd. Cotton Fabric for Outer lining 2 yds. Insulbright For Insulative Layer 48" Zipper I had left overs of all fabrics but not a ton.

    For what it's worth, my cider did something similar. Went crazy for the first two days, and now I'm getting two bubbles per minute, maybe less. It's going to be fermenting for a while this one.

    I had the same issue man. I had 5.75 gallons in my brew kettle and after 60 minutes was left with about 3.25 gallons. I left the heat on high the whole time and didn't realize it. In the end it ended up working out but just small annoyance.

    Is there a visible way to tell if my beer is carbonating?

    I second GilSwill. Fill up a plastic bottle and check as it get's firmer and firmer. Beer tastes just as good as the other ones. I've never had any issues and do it every batch.

    You know you're a home brewer when?

    When you horde beer bottles because, "..I'm going to use them for my next batch." And justify buying more craft brew to increase said collection of bottles. Then you start kegging and retain said horde of bottles to "...hand out to friends" and "save some to see how it tastes down the road".
