High Gravity BIAB Electric Brewing System

Anyone have a recipe in the beersmith cloud that has a good equipment / mash profile for the 15 gallon BIAB setup?

    The Rare Barrel Base Recipes

I asked on twitter regarding the IBU of Shadows of Their Eyes and the response I got was "1IBU coming from a low alpha acid hop." I asked if it was the same for their other beers and got no response but I'm guessing that's the case since it's just two base beers all the time anyway.

    Wanted: Mackeson's Triple AG Recipe

I just brewed the recipe from Clone Brews. Came out great.

Victory Storm King actual recipe, need help with hops

This is sorta near it and I think it'd be pretty good. http://beersmithrecipes.com/viewrecipe/196819

Victory Storm King actual recipe, need help with hops

I've seen a few threads on here about this recipe but this is the actual recipe, provided on the June 17, 2013 session by Bill Covaleski. I can do the grain bill, that's easy in beersmith (build it to 10#, scale up the abv). The hops I am too retarded to figure out. Shooting for a 6 gallon...

Infrared USB camera in ferm chamber?

Someone at work mentioned I should add it and it's a low cost addition that would be pretty funny to show people. I do agree it's absolutely ridiculous. Guess I'll give it a whirl.

Infrared USB camera in ferm chamber?

I'm setting up a Raspberry Pi to monitor temps and I was thinking adding a webcam to it would be a nice touch. Anyone know if the infrared light (I ferment in a freezer) will harm the beer? Anyone done this before and have some pro tips?

What are your "can't live without" equipment items?

Autosiphon combined with the clip really makes it shine. One handed operation so I can get the hose where I want it to be.

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

Brewing my third batch today. I need to start doing 10 gallon batches of this. It disappears super quick (growlers come back from friends the next day...).

What are your "can't live without" equipment items?

Thermapen (actually bought it for BBQ, use it more for brewing) and a powerful outdoor burner (I have an electric stove that sucks)

    35 dollar march pump

March pumps work really well. It hurt a bit on the wallet but I didn't mind as I was buying from an American company making the pumps in the USA. It's something you'll have for a long time and you won't need to spend money on a DC power supply (I do realize those aren't expensive).

    Make rock candy from wort?

Agreed. As I know virtually nothing about this stuff, thoughts on adjusting to use unfermented wort?

    Make rock candy from wort?

That's exactly it. Very curious to see what you come up with.

    Make rock candy from wort?

Friend of mine asked me last night if it's possible to make him some rock candy from wort (after boil, with the hops in there, etc). Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Can 11.5 gallons of wort be boiled in a 13gallon pot?

I do 9 gallons in an 11 gallon. I kill the heat to almost nothing once I start to see it foam then stir while slowly bring the temp back up. I do it outside on a propane burner so if I boil over a little (hasn't happened yet), the tears from the angels when they are low on their share will wash...

    Brew water testing

It's pretty cheap to have a brewing water test done from ward labs. I have city water and run through a filter so I wanted a test post-filter. Had my results in a couple of days.

Which online vendor has the best recipes?

Northern Brewer kits are great. They also have a page with all of the recipes in PDFs. Use downloadthem all and grab them. Many are in the addons for beersmith as well.

    Keg / Carboy Washer (yes another) . . .

Made one using CPVC due to the thinner size. This thing is awesome for carboys! Already had the pump for recirculating water. Bucket + CPVC parts at the hardware store cost me about $18 (without threaded barbs). Need to pickup some additional keg connection hardware to clean them as well. Plugs...

How to: Build The BEST Mash Tun from a Beverage Cooler

I wouldn't use a used cooler. I am sure it's fine but would weird me out. $48 for a 10 gallon Amazon seems well worth it (just bought a second today for an HLT). Love the MASH on there. Going to do that for my tun and HLT.

Slightly Smashed Apollo Pale Ale - Input?

Did you ever try this one out? Just ordered some Apollo and want to SMaSH(ish) it. Get enough flavor / aroma to get a good feel for the hop?
