    Adding more vanilla beans

Yes, I sliced them down the center. The problem is at this point I am not tasting a lot of vanilla. Do you think I should just go with it and hope for the best? Or should I add more vanilla?

    Adding more vanilla beans

About 2.5 weeks ago I brewed a porter recipe and decided to add vanilla beans into secondary to make a vanilla porter. After soaking the vanilla beans in bourbon for about a week I added it to my secondary after the beer had been fermenting for about a week. The vanilla has been sitting in...

Fuggles IPA: how can I make it hoppier?

Thanks a lot everyone who has responded, I really appreciate the input. Someone had mentioned a longer boil. Would boiling the wort for 90 minutes possibly lead to more of a hoppy flavor?

Fuggles IPA: how can I make it hoppier?

I already bought the kit from Midwest. So would you suggest just buying different hops (say cascade) and using those hops with the other ingredients that came in the kit? Would that work?

Fuggles IPA: how can I make it hoppier?

I recently purchased a Fuggles IPA kit from Midwest. I have read that it doesn't come out very hoppy, but I would like to purchase some extra hops in order to brew a hoppier beer. Does anyone have any suggestions of what hops I should add and how much? Should I dry hop? I love hoppy beers...

    Kilkenny availability in the US

I called up Midwest and they told me they had crushed the grains for me. I guess now I know what crushed grains look like

Can I open my fermenting bucket?

I am a new brewer, just brewed my first batch on Monday. I brewed an Irish Red Ale kit that I got from Midwest. I have it sealed in my fermenting bucket with the airlock on it, but I just wanted to know what the downside of opening it would be? I have heard you don't want to let any...

    First batch fermenting!

I just received my kit in the mail the other day and I am really excited to get started! I have what may be a dumb question, but seeing as I've never done this before I thought I should ask. I know that you are supposed to run the grains through a mill before you brew. I received this kit...
