My first attempt at Ed Worts Haus Pale Ale

On the 25th of June I brewed Ed Worts House Pale Ale, which I had to make some adjustments to his recipe in order to account for my equipment. Here's the recipe I used: Please note that I had to settle on a partial grain, mini-mash setup as my boil kettle is only 5 gallons, and I cant get much...

    Building Fermentation chiller...thoughts?

I've decided to build the 38DD Mother of a Fermentation Chiller. While I have a fairly good idea how I'm going to build it, I wanted to know if anyone has/is using one of these and had any tips for small improvements over the original design and any short comings I should be prepared for. I...

    oxyclean question

I've been reading that oxyclean free is a commonly used(inexpensive) cleaner. Unfortunatly, I can't find the 'free' in my area. Would it be detrimental to use the regular oxyclean versatile(non-free)?

There are two home bbrew stores that I go to. I like both of them for different reasons. Store 1 is cheaper and closer and sells commercial beer, but don't have a great selection of equupment(although they will order stuff for me). Store 2 is quite a bit further away and is more expensive on...

    First non-kit brew today!

I just finished brewing my first non-kit beer. IMO it was just as easy as working with a kit(although I've only used the Mr. Beer kits before this). Anyway, here's the recipe(which is an altered version of a Shed Mountain Ale Clone recipe I found elsewhere on the forums) Boil Volume: 1...

    Help with recipe please

So, a couple of years ago my wife and I went on a tour of Redhook in Portsmouth and really enjoyed their summer wheat they were brewing. I'd like to clone that beer if possible. I'm not sure if anyone here has ever tried it(I can't find any information online about it so no reviews for...
