    Mangrove's Jack Lucky Goat Pale ale, way too bitter

    I brewed it 1.5lbs of liquid glucose - 1.5lbs liquid light malt extract boiled in 1oz of cascade hops for 20 minutes (boiled in the LME and glucose). Topped it up to 20L. Tasty beer.

    Pitched warm :(

    Well we are in the middle of a hot spell so the ice packs melted while i was at work and wort rose to about 73 - i guess it is likely going to be just a mediocre beer. It is fermenting pretty steady now. I will have to live with it - one of the pains of summer brewing without temp controls.

    To rack or not to rack

    I used to rack for my first 4 years brewing - cause that how I was shown. The past 4 years I have given up racking and have seen no difference. So I would say don't bother in my opinion.

    Ok so I was shooting for an FG of 1017 - reading after a week was 1029 -- I pitched another packet of yeast on the wert..... Is there any harm in pitching the extra yeast?

    Black Rock - Nut Brown Ale

    I have brewed some black rock kits. some things I think will help improve the taste are 1) Only brew them to about 19L 2) Maybe try using 500g dextrose and 500g malt. I think 1kg of malt added is too much unless u add additional hops for flavoring. Hope this helps. Cheers

    Hey guys, I have a Barons kit which is simply 7 liters of concentrated beer wert. It says if I top it up to 23 liters the OG ill be about 1036. Is there anyway to figure out what my OG would be if I only topped it up to 19L??? Thanks!

    Extract kits in a can?

    It all depends on the brewing temps. If you keep fermentation 20 degrees and below I dont find any fruity tastes at all. If its up in the 20's i have noticed some slight fruity notes. Also if you use to much simple sugars you will get a slight fruity taste.
