Possible contamination. It may not be a yeast fermentation going on. If gravity is falling something is happening. What does it smell like?

I may be wrong but I would assume that you're just peachy. Fermentation is creating co2 which is causing a higher pressure in the fermenter, so outside air cannot in. Even if the pressure isn't there co2 is heavier than air so there should be a nice cap over your brew. Sent from my SCH-I545...

I probably would of just made a counter flow using garden hose. I did and it's very efficient, chills 10 gallons to around 70-80 as fast as I can drain my kettle.
