    Mashing/Milling Problems?

I need some help here... The last few batches I've brewed have resulted in very astringent wort and beer. I recently switched over to using RO water due to bad water in the town I just moved to. The first few batches I brewed I put some salts into the mash tun and the rest into the kettle. Those...

    Bottling Berliner Weisse

I haven't been able to find a clear answer on this. When I go to bottle a berliner weisse, do I have to pitch yeast along with the priming sugar? Or will the critters just eat the sugar and create CO2 from there. For 5 gallons, how much priming sugar should be used?

    Saving a beer

Hey guys, wanted some input on ideas for secondary aging a belgian dark strong. Basically what happened was due to equipment failure, 10 gallons of a belgian pale into 5 gallons of a belgian dark strong. It has fermented out from 1.094 to 1.027 and hasn't moved in a few days. I used the belgian...

Yeast Starter for 15 Gallon Batch

I want to attempt a 15 gallon AG batch but I'm curious about the yeast. I have a 2000ml flask. Can a single Wyeast smackpack or White Labs vial make a big enough starter? Also I would be primary fermenting in 2 different vessel's. The OG will be around 1.055. Would that pose some issues?

Im using my barley crusher for the first time and it not seem to be working right. Its not crushing at all. I tried the factory setting .039 and adjusted it to .037 and no to no avail. It just passes through the crusher. Is there something I'm not doing? I used a drill and the handle.

    Barley Crusher Question

Got one in the mail yesterday and ran some grain through it to test it. I rinsed it off (after reading forums apparently that's a no no). What's the reason behind it? I'm assuming doing it once wont ruin it hopefully.

Low Efficiency on High Gravity Beer

I have 5 all-grain batches under my belt and have been having issues gettin good efficiency on the high gravity ales. Question about AG Imperial IPA

I brewed my first AG imperial IPA and I'm a newbie to AG so I have something I'd like some feedback on. I used 3lbs of specialty grains and 14lbs of 2-row. It's a 5 gallon batch. Here's what I'm not sure about: How is mash efficiency calculated? It came out real thick and murky and...
