    2 keggels, 3&5 gallon corny's-SE PA

I am looking to downsize from 10+gallon batches and looking to sell 2 keggles, both have tops cut. 1 has stainless 1/2" ball valve from Northern Brewer. Other has not been drilled. Looking to get $150 for both. Would consider trade for 8gal SS brewpot. Have too many corny's...would like to...

    95% Efficiency, Need Help!

First batch with the new Barley Crusher. Was hoping for around 75% (since my corona mill had me stuck in the 60%'s). I was trying to make a Pale Ale that had to become a late hop IPA. Not that this is a bad thing but I need to be less efficient. Is it simply a matter of adjusting the gap...

    Re-Pitching on Slow Nottingham?

I brewed up a big (1.080) chocolate stout on sunday and pitched 2 packs of rehydrated Notty. I looked at the lot # and it was not in the recall. But 30 hours after pitching I have no signs of fermentation. Tonight I read that others have had slow starts but with mixed results. Any advice as to...

    storage pressure vs serving pressure

I have read conflicting info and seek the knowledge of wisemen. When storing cornies (after having been carbed) in the kegerator, do I need to keep them at 12psi (carbing pressure) or can I leave them at a lower serving pressure of 6-8psi?

    Cold crash yeast cake reuse

I have a batch of blonde ale about to go into cold crash mode. In a couple of days I want to re use the yeast cake of US-05. Are there any potential problems in doing this. I plan on giving the yeast a day or so to gradually return to 65-70 F. Thanks.

    transporting kegs and CO2 tank

I am headed down to the Outer Banks, NC this weekend. I am taking 4 cornies and a 5# CO2 tank. It looks like temps will be near 90F. We are traveling late afternoon in the evening and then finishing the drive in the late morning the next day. So the beer and tank have to stay in the car...

    another carbonation problem

Two weeks ago I kegged 10 gal of "High" Sierra Nevada clone (OG was 1.060). Batch fermented for 10 days FG was 1.017. So I cold crashed it in the primary. 48 hours later I put it on the gas at 12 psi around 42 degrees. 2 weeks later now I hook it up to the tap today and out comes good tasting...

3/16" OK to use for gas dispensing?

Is there any reason not to use 3/16" tubing for gas as well as beer dispensing? Most of what I read says to use 5/16" or 1/4" for the gas. Thanks for the help.

    2 fermenters and 1 airlock...trouble?

Made my second AG 10 gallon batch sunday. A Blonde ale. I realized when I was sanitizing my fermenters that I only had 1 airlock. LHBS was closed so I rigged up a 2 fer 1. I ran 8" of tubing from each fermenter into a plastic "T" barb. Off the other end of the barb comes 1"of tubing then onto...

3 tap brass tower for sale

I got 2 of these with a kegerator I purchased. Due to small space issues I will be parting with atleast 1 if not both. Here is the first one. I am looking for $175 plus shipping per tower. I will consider trades as I am looking for 1 perlick and 1 stout faucet. Also maybe be tempted with ball...

Do I need to use the lid from the freezer

Hope someone can help me out here. I recently purchased a used keezer. The lid has holes drilled for two triple draft towers. Inside the lid was a small piece of 5/8" plywood for support but was not adequate. The lid is in rough shape and I would like to scrap it. I think I am going to build a...

Thank You & Notes on first All Grain Marathon

Cheers to everyone for your wisdom and sharing experiences, especially Bobby M and all the you tube vids. For the last couple of months I have been scaling up from stove top PM with 3 and 5 gal coolers to now keggle and full cooler batch sparge with an insanely powerful banjo burner that nearly...

    Extreme Carbonation Problem

Why is my beer so over carbonated? Back on august 8th I brewed an imperial porter/stout. It was my first partial mash. BeerTools calculations have OG at 1.089 and FG at 1.024. Actual OG was 1.083. At the time I figured my efficiency was low or one of my various sugar additions was lite. So I...

a little help here, old starter revival

3 weeks ago I was set to brew an Imperial Porter. Made my starter from pack of Wyeast Scotch Ale #1728.
