    do i need to secondary

    just finished brewing a caribou slobber the directions say to ferment for two weeks the n secondary for another two weeks . So my question is do I need to secondary or can I just leave it in the primary for the four weeks then bottle thanks in advance

    Slim 1/4 keg as mash tun

    Have been given a slim 1/4 keg and am thinking if turning it into a mash tun have read as much as I can find here and as far as I can figure out this will hold about 18 lbs of grain? Since all I have done so far is extract do not if this right in your opinion will be enough t do most beers thanks

    Have just been given 2 half kegs and am thinking of use ing one fog a BK . So my question is since I am only going to boil for a 5gal batch is there any reason that this mite be to large a pot to use thanks in advance

    Does the degree of a boil make a difference

    Is it better to have a gentle boil or a hard boil Other than boiling off more fluid with a hard boil and less with a gentle boil is there a differance?

    Mash tun size?

    I am planing to into all grain brewing in the near future and need to know size container to plan on getting ? Does size of grain bill determine the size of the tun? Is 6# of grain in a 15 gal tun not good . Any info is much appreciated thanks

    Maltodextrin

    Was going to brew a 5 gal batch of porter today and as I was laying all ingredients out saw that I was missing the 4oz of maltodextrin is there anything that I can substitute with or should I just wait until I can get some ? This a extract kit from Morebeer thanks

    Nube fermentation ?

    Just revived a dark cherry stout extract kit from northern directions say to ferment for 1-2 weeks secondary for 2-4 weeks and bottle condishin for 1-2 weeks Is this because it it a stout or just old school ?     Is there any advantage to a triclad pot ( mega pot) verses a single layer pot ( stout blicmen) for boiling wort thanks in advance

    Possible fermentaion problem
