Up to $300 for Grain Mill

My budget is up to $300 for a grain mill. I brew once every two weeks and want something that will last for a long time. Been looking at the Monster Mill line, but am confused with all of the options for different rollers. My question is, if you had $300, what would you get?

    Starter for Dunkelweizen

Ordered a Dunkelweizen kit and the Wyeast 3068 smack pack arrived partially inflated. Plan to brew this weekend so I think I will build a starter tonight and then decant for it to be ready to pitch. I don't want 200 billion cells for this beer as I like the banana flavor. What would be...

My first AG BIAB with Photos

This was my first all grain BIAB. I did a Vanilla Porter from Austin Homebrew. I heated up 3.5 gallons of water to 165 degrees and mashed in 10.5 pounds of grain. After mashing in, the temp was 154 degrees. I put a lid on the pot and let it mash for 60 minutes. At the end of the 60 minutes...

Partial Mash - How much water?

I've done a few partial mash kits from AHS. My problem is that they call for 2 gallons of water to mash the 3 pounds of grain. I have a 9 gallon kettle and if I fill with 2 gallons of water, then the water barely covers the grain and the grain is sitting on the bottom of the pot. Can I add...

    Yeast Storage Question

My order from Austin Homebrew is suppose to arrive later today with a cold pack. Should I put the White Labs vial in the fridge, or just leave it on the counter over night since I'm brewing tomorrow? I don't want to do a starter FWIW.

    Strawberry Blonde Ale

Here is my plan and somebody tell me if I'm going wrong. I want a sweet Strawberry Blonde without much hop bite or tartness (if ever one existed, LOL). I ordered a Texas Blonde Ale kit from Austin Homebrew and plan on brewing that this weekend. I will primary for two weeks and then rack on...

    Butterscotch Taste

Drinking my first home brew and have a slight to moderate butterscotch taste. Nothing too overwhelming, but it is there. I read the How to Brew book by Palmer and it says it is from diacetyl which could be from infection, pitch rate and poor aeration methods. I don't think it is an infection...

Going from Commercial to Homebrew Kegerator

I just brewed my first batch this weekend and have a few weeks to get my keg setup for my kegerator. I have had this kegerator for over a year with no problems and all of the tubing, shanks and fittings are for commercial kegs. I bought a Corny Ball lock keg and fittings this weekend and...

First Batch This Weekend and Have Some Questions

I'm going to brew my first beer this weekend, which is a Bavarian style hefeweizen. Here are my questions: 1) I will be transferring my wort to a better bottle and don't have a funnel or strainer, do I just use my autosiphon? Will that give me enough aeration? In not, how can I add...
