Linked above is my post to the Favorite IPA thread which is copied below. I've had IPA's from anybody & everywhere, however...

I just discovered Goose Island IPA. WOW, a completely different version, at least for me. Very low bitterness effect, but loads of hop flavor. I loved it a lot. Going to have to figure this one out! I'm sticking w/extracts, so I might go:
Pale LME
1# crystal steeping grains as BK heats thru 165f or so

Styrian, Fuggle, Cascade, Centennial, per their site
accepting ideas how I might add those hops...such as:
1 oz Fuggles 60 minutes
.5 oz Cascade 15 minutes
.5 oz Cascade 10 minutes
.5 oz Centennial 5 minutes
.5 oz Centennial flameout
?How's that hope schedule grab ya? I would like some input on how to pull this off with an end result similar to Goose Island's IPA. For me, clearly the lack of bitterness is from late addition hops, or perhaps, even dry hopping.

Based on those hops, I would presume that the Centennial is the 60 minute addition (it's the high alpha). I would shoot for 30 IBUs with that.

Then, I would assume that the flavor hops are fuggles and styrian goldings. This is an English IPA, so those make more sense as the flavor hops. I would shoot for 20 IBUs split across a 30 or 20 minute addition.

I would use the cascades as an aroma addition around 5 minutes, because I don't like them as a whirlpool/dryhop. I would shoot for 5 IBUs there.

But, that's just how I would build it based on their description. I would use Jamil's English IPA extract recipe for my grain bill and tweak from there.
