I'm planning a chocolate-coconut porter for the near future, have drawn up a rough recipe but would love to know your opinions on it.
84% 4.5Kg British Pale (Maris Otter)
7% 400g Chocolate Malt
5% 285g Crystal 90L
4% 200g Flaked Oats
30g Northern Brewer 10.5%AA @60 min
30g Fuggles 3.8%AA @1 min
Wyeast British Ale II (1335)
Estimated OG: 1.060
IBU: 35
200g of Cocoa nibs in secondary
350g of Totasted Coconut in Secondary
So what do you guys think? I wanted to keep the grain bill relatively simple, maybe a tad high on the chocolate which could contribute some harshness. I've got some fuggles left over hence the 1 minute addition, figured in would impart something good anyway.
Cheers!
