Can I bring my pilsner up to 58 for 2 weeks before lagering?

So I've got a pilsner in primary at 48F, and I've got an empty slot in the pipeline I want to fill with an IIPA. I've heard that as long as most of the fermentation is done, you can take it up to room temperature for the diacetyl rest. Would it be OK to leave it up in the low ale range for a couple weeks while my IIPA ferments?

Failing that, is there any lager yeast that's not going to produce a really unbalanced beer from an IIPA recipe?

I did 6 weeks on the primary cake at about that temp, and the helles turned out great. Pitched and fermed cold first of course though....
