I just picked up 2 cans of muntons nut brown ale. Which are 1.8kg. On the label it says 1.040-1.044 og. But instructions say 1 can? Should I use both? And what kind of og am I looking for with 2 cans?
I need to know so I can make my starter.
 
Muntons cans are designed to be used with sugar, typically 1-1.5 kg.

If you used both cans in a 23L batch, it will be in around 1.042.
