Why can I not take my final fermented gravity reading with my refractometer? I have read somewhere that you can if u do some calculation. Any explanations or suggestions would be much appreciated

Www.seanterrill.com (I think that is it) has a pretty accurate calculator for refractometer FG.
You can use this calculator http://seanterrill.com/2012/01/06/refractometer-calculator/ but I would still double check your f.g. with your hydrometer. I've used it before and it seems to be right on with my hydrometer. So give it a try.
