So what's the best place to get these? I'm wanting to built a small one, just one tap. What is the minimal size cooler I would need? It would be mostly for camping so it needs to cool the beer down more than just inside a building or a home. Anyway, any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm happy with my 50ft coil...but it wouldn't be useful for chilling outdoor temperature beer. I keep my kegs cool...in ice...and just run it through the coil to get it down to serving temp. If you're going to hook up a room temp keg...I've been told the 120 ft coil is the way to go.

I built one from a plate chiller I got on e-bay for $40, they are much cheaper then the ss coil, but are much less efficient, I cooled my kegs in a bucket of ice before sending it through the box. It worked great but I'd avoid the plate if you cant keep the keg cooled.

Do you think you'll end up serving the whole keg? If so, it's probably better to ice down the whole thing. Putting the keg inside a 10g bev cooler and fill the space with ice and water.

My main use for it would be camping, so it would be served over the course of a weekend. I've iced down the whole keg before during a party and that worked well, but my the next morning, the ice would be gone.
