38" in a week!

The Cascade got off to a slow start this year, but in the last week (May 30-June 05) it grew 38". I put a clothespin (near the bottom of the picture) next to the tip last Saturday. Mostly it was the weather, high-80s during the day and mid-50s at night, but I think the deep irrigation is helping.

Wow! You can almost stand next to it and watch it grow at that rate!

Mine are looking great, but very short. Glossy, green leaves, and lush looking, but it's cold here. It's supposed to stay above freezing tonight for the first time in a week, so maybe mine will start taking off too.
 
That clothespin is at eye-level. The hops (and crops) are growing so well this Spring that I can see differences between the morning and evening dogwalks.
