I checked the gravity of my Holiday Spiced ale on Saturday after 2 weeks in primary and was dismayed to see it at about 1.040 (down from 1.066). Taste was good but it can't be considered ready for secondary at that gravity, so I swirled the carboy to try and rouse the yeast (Wyest 1338) and today (Monday) at lunch if have this:

The quality of my iPhone shots is lacking but it's very dense almost like the head on a Guinness. I'm not really worried because at least now the yeast is doing something, but it looks unlike what I am used to.
