So I am planning out my next couple brews and comparing prices on AHBS and Midwest supply. On AHBS, I noticed that they have 2 different version of extract recipes, one with LME and one with DME. Can a more experienced brewer tell me the difference between the 2 as far as taste or quality goes? Do you recommend LME or DME? Why do they offer both like that?

LME should be just a little cheaper if you pick it up at the store because it is cheaper to make plus you can get it in whatever quantity you want if they have it in bulk. DME is easier to ship because the liquid is gone so it is lighter for the same amount of sugars but there is a cost to drying it and since it is hygroscopic, it has to be kept in a sealed bag or a very dry location. Brews that are done right would be very hard to tell the difference.
