    Starsan Question

Star San is effective as long as the pH is 3 or lower. I reuse the same batch without issue but do test it when it starts to get cloudy.

    Moldy Beer...now what?

I lost the spore war and dumped all 15 gallons. I did clean the outsides and pull samples. 2 were really bad and 1 was bad. I just decided to cut the losses and move on instead of risking further contamination. Everything scrubbed and bleached thoroughly and no signs of further mold. Lessons...

    Moldy Beer...now what?

Thank you for the responses - much appreciated! I will give it a taste and report back in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation. Good advice flars on removing the blow offs after the krausen drops. I definitely won't be lazy anymore about dumping gear and tools on the...

    Moldy Beer...now what?

I brewed 15 gallons of beer in late June and then got my butt kicked by summer. Both beers required a long conditioning so I just let them go in the primary in the fermentation chamber. Further, anywhere there is a metal to metal connection a washer, pipe dope, teflon tape, etc depending on specific connection. Just because you don't hear gas - it doesn't mean it...

    Kegging with CO2 dual output

The output closest to the tank should be the higher pressure setting. The high pressure flows from the tank through the first reg and is stepped down and then further stepped down by the second reg. My understanding is the second reg cannot step pressure up higher than what it enters at. I could...
