    Fan in a kegerator

    Has anyone tried to hard wire a fan in a kegerator from the control knob? I am thinking on using a computer fan. Thanks

    Mash tun

    This drained extremely well. I had to pull the bag away from the drain but that was no big deal. Yes I have a BIAB bag. I should have taken pics.

    I see lots of writeups on mash tuns. All great ideas. However, nobody yet has suggested this. Instead of a false bottom or a filter from a plumbing piece, use a BIAB bag as a filter. I tried it last week and it worked perfectly. No stuck sparges and I could sparge quickly.

    Dudadiesel.com. They have bucket strainers. I have a 70 micron one that works great.

    I brewed a Sierra Nevada Stout clone. 5 gallons all grain BIAB. Added 1 lb oats. Mashed at 151F which after an hour it was at 149F. It tastes nice but I wanted more body Any suggestions? Thanks.

    I also insulate the bucket with 2 large blankets.

    I would brew in a stainless kettle. The mash tun would have my bag so no need to worry about grain beds or stuck sparges.

    Greetings. I had a discussion with a fellow home brewer on vessels. I believe you can mash with a food grade pail. Also why not primary and secondary in the same fermentation pail. Have a valve at the bottom to drain the trub. Comments or problems are encouraged. Thanks

    I made a dark IPA with Mr Beer Diablo IPA, 1 lb of dark DME, and added Citra hopps. wOW!!
