    Homebrew Con 2024 location?

Pro brewers aren't exactly in love with the BA. Both sides are facing existential threats. What does the BA do for breweries? State guilds are far more important to breweries than the BA. Breweries don't need the BA. Breweries have been abandoning GABF for years now. Focusing solely on the BA...

Mike McDole's Longshot Winner Pliny Clone will NOT be brewed by Sam Adams

This doesn't completely discount everything Sam Adams has done for homebrewers, so no, I don't think a www.boycottsamadams.com is called for. This is still a really really disappointing development though. I feel bad for McDole, he seemed super stoked about having his beer available nationwide.

Hmmm, I don't find the alcohol hot at all in the Gonzo, but it is quite possible I have become a bit immune to alcohol presence in beer.

    Clipper City

The Loose Cannon could be my favorite IPA. Sad that I can't get it anymore now that I am in Denver. Odell IPA is really good, Stone IPA is good, but honestly, give me the Loose Cannon over either of these any day.

    Sam Adams Long Shot

It isn't exactly the recipe that Vinnie has shared, McDole tweaked it for his own tastes/process, so it is more of a Pliny-inspired beer than a straight forward clone. I am sure Vinnie is quite happy for him and is not very threatened by Sam Adams short run of a beer that could be slightly...

The Gonzo Imperial Porter is one of the best Imperial Stouts/Porters I have ever had. This particularly surprised me since I am not that big a fan of most of their other beers, but this one, MAN is it good.

It's a Great Pumpkin [Beer] Charlie Brown!

Wouldn't a pumpkin filled with liquid rot over the course of 2 weeks?

It's Gonna Be a Showdown: Imperial Pilsnerama

It wasn't a dumper for me, but it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been. It tasted like it had a great pilsner on top, but underneath, it was just a straight cloying taste. I feel this is a problem with many of Dogfish head's beers. Great flavor, if only they brought the FG down a couple...

    Easy Funky Beer?

Seems pretty risky to me. With a saison, I can see it being fine as long as you got good enough attenuation (down to 1.008 or so) but in any beer above 1.010, I would be very concerned about carbonation levels in the bottle.

It's Gonna Be a Showdown: Imperial Pilsnerama

Actually, I am going to agree with the_bird. I had the Golden Era from DFH and found it way to cloying to be enjoyable.

    Working in a brewery

I have been stuck in a quagmire lately, so I decided I am moving to Denver and starting at the bottom. The plan is to find a job at as many breweries as possible, no matter what it is, and just start getting my foot in as many doors as possible. The ultimate goal is to become head brewer at a...
