    Coconut Porter/Quad/Stout Recipe Help

    You pretty much follow this recipe. After your fermentation is done transfer to secondary add 2 lbs of toasted coconut that have been soaking in coconut vodka for a week.

    I did a 5 gallon batch with 2 lbs of sweetened chips soaked in coconut vodka. Oh and i added maltodextrine during the boil. It was awesome. I got another batch going right now. Going to skip the malto and use unsweetened coconut.

    I have noticed to keep a truer color with extract. Add half of the extract at the end of boil.

    Recirculate the mash or not

    I have a rims to maintain temps and direct fire for step mashs. I receric the whole time.
