I did alot of research before I took this journey into all grain. Figured out temps, mash times, I even double batch sparged. Everything was perfect.. till the clean up. I had all of the wet grains in the cooler on the back porch and I didn't want to throw them in the yard because I'd probably...
I wish I had that list Revvy when I started because, yeah, I was one of those guys that thought I messed up everything. The batch I'm drinking now I stuck my arm in the cooled wort to fish out thbe rubber stopper and it tastes great! Thanks for helping out us noobies
I had just bought the White Labs WLP 351. I heard somewhere that if you under pitch the yeast you will stress it out and release more phenols and make it tase better. Is that true and if you do how much do you underpitch? Half the starter? More or less?
I have heard that before that the phenols lighten up when reused or if pitched on the yeast cake. I don't know if its just in few cases or if this is regular.
Yeah, I've allready got it figured out. 2 maybe 3 lobsters half cut potatoes cajun and seafood seasoning! YUMMM Then the next day, double IPA even better. I will put it to use. :mug:
Ok, just got my pot in.It's not as cheap and flimsy as I thought. Don't get me wrong, it's not heavy duty but I think it will last as long as I take care of it. It's more heavy duty than my 20 qt stainless, but I bought that for 7.99 at gordmans. For 7.99 you cant expect qualty. :mug:
