Anything You’d Do Different In Your Keezer?

What kind of setup are you running @VikeMan?

Anything You’d Do Different In Your Keezer?

Thanks for the heads up. I definitely will give it a go with the cardboard cutouts! A 6th keg is not really necessary, as it will either be for an extra draft or conditioning spot, and I already have 3 beers which is plenty for me to have on tap. I mainly want to have an extra spot for...

Anything You’d Do Different In Your Keezer?

4 on the floor and 2 on the bump. CO2 outside. According to the master kegerator size guide there is at least 1, Danby I believe, that fits 6. Edit: Danny, Frigidaire, Kenmore, and Magic Chef have 7-7.2 ct ft models that can fit 6, potentially with a collar, but not stacked crazy.

Anything You’d Do Different In Your Keezer?

I am looking to build out a keezer. I currently have a 3 tap kegerator, but I am getting tired of the juggle whenever a keg kicks, and I would like some more space. I am looking to build a 6 keg keezer with a 7 cu. ft freezer. I know it’s right, but there are some models out there that can do...

    Sterilizing Glass After Sour Beer

I am starting a solera project and used a glass flask for my starter and I am using a glass fermentor in addition to a plastic one. I am already dedicating the plastic equipment to sour beer brewing, but glass should be able to be cleaned and used for non-sour beers, correct? I did a long PBW...

    Barrier Gas Lines?

I suppose this could be a different flavor as I’m not super in tune with oxidization (in terms of I’ve never purposely oxidized something to train my pallet). I do notice that the beer that sits in the lines is typically flat and tastes like crap compared to the rest that comes out after you...

    Barrier Gas Lines?

Thanks! Have you noticed better longevity in your kegged beer? I haven’t been drinking things as fast and some are on tap for upwards of 2.5 months so I think these lines will be the biggest upgrade for the system as I feel I have everything else dialed in.

    Barrier Gas Lines?

Are there any barrier gas lines out there that can be used with barbs? My whole setup is barbed, and I don’t want to replace everything. I am looking at Bevseal Ultra for my beer lines, but is there anything that would fit the 3/8 barbs for gas? I am deciding to do this after my perfectly fine...

Required CO2 To Carbonate Varies with Keg Size?

I have started spunding at the end of fermentation to carbonate my beer. I brew 3 gallon batches, and I was using my Anvil brew bucket (4 gallon) and transferring to the serving keg (3 gallon) about 8 gravity points above expected final gravity. I am familiar with carbonation levels required to...

Troubleshooting - What threw me off target the most?

Thanks for the insight. I do have my own recirculation system, and I did a mash out at 168, but I don’t think it flows through quick enough to really change the temp of the whole mash before I pull the grains. I think next time I will drop the grind size down to 0.032” as well. My last batch at...

Troubleshooting - What threw me off target the most?

I was brewing a pumpkin ale yesterday and while the process was relatively successful, my efficiencies were much worse than expected. I brew 3 gallon batches on the 6.5 gallon Anvil Foundry. My grain bill was 7lb plus 2+ lb of canned pumpkin. The system has a limit of 8lb of grain, so I was...

What do you do with the spent grain (from your mash)??

Yes, they are considered a “green”.

What do you do with the spent grain (from your mash)??

I compost my spent grains, yeast, and trub. The spent grains do smell like hell for a few days though!

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

In reference to the Anvil Kettle filter ^ Does anyone know why this is? I have the screen, and while it doesn’t fit perfectly it seems to work well enough. It clogs very easily on heavily hopped beers though.

Keg Dry Hop - Adding Hops Days Before Transfer?

I hook my fermenter up to a keg full of Star-San, so as it ferments it pushes out the sanitizer and fills the keg with CO2. I still plan to dry hop in primary, but I would like to get some of the post-fermentation hop character/aroma. My thoughts are it would be better to have the hops in the...
