Thanks for updating the brew steps with the brix readings! That, with the timers, should make my next brew day easier. Looking forward to using it to brew a Doppelbock next weekend!
One recipe at a time is cool with me. Exporting a recipe to my dropbox folder is literally two clicks for me...
Cool... SG in parenthesis with no entry is cool with me. I just want to know what value I'm trying to hit pre-boil with my refractometer. I'll adjust to hit that value at that point anyway, so entering a different value isn't necessary to me. FG is a different story and I don't need that on...
Just did a quick search, although I forget the torque settings on the one I bought... anyway, how about:

One feature I would love would be to have pre-boil post-boil gravity's given in brix for refractometer use right in the brew steps. It's not something that BeerSmith does today, but I've asked the author for it.
I was thinking the same thing. There are some desperate elderly people who are barely getting by. It's possible that what is cheap medication for you and me was more than they could afford. While not right, I kinda feel bad for them if that's the only option they felt they had.

Thanks for putting this together. I'm going to try using it for my next brew in a few weekends. I did find a small bug, though.
I use metric for my grain and hop measurements, and the amounts show up with a null as a volume identifier. For example:
"1kg" will show on your app as "1null"

Everyone is different and so are relationships. My wife and I can't understand how marriages work when people are sneaking purchases behind each others backs, but it apparently does. It just doesn't work for us. If my wife and I did that to each other, our finances would be a mess and we'd...
Funny... I think the same thing when I read these threads. It really shouldn't be so hard to just talk to your significant other. My wife and I both have friends that try to "win" the battle of spending their money and we really don't get it.
As I understand it, HopsDirect prices are pretty much wholesale prices to the public... so I think the issue is that someone has to pay HopsDirect prices + shipping, then they have to break down the shipments into smaller increments and repackage. After that, your LHBS will have to buy them...
Thanks for reminding me this was happening. I saw a post on it a while back, but forgot. I just stocked up on a bunch of stuff, many I had never used before. Some were so cheap that it was impossible to pass on trying them. :mug:
I'll second Beachwood as a good destination. They have two locations now... one in Seal Beach and one in Long Beach. The Long Beach location brews great beer on premises. The food is pretty good as well.
I don't have any historical data, but I'd guess that "cowboy wine" would most likely be a fruit wine made from whatever fruit would reasonably grow in the region it was served. Country fruit wines have been made from all sorts of fruit. I've even seen recipes for dandelion wine.
