    Looking for 5/8" compression fitting

I'm trying to build a pressurized barrel transfer tool with a 5/8" OD racking cane, and the last thing I need for it is a stainless compression fitting with a 5/8" bore that the racking cane will pass all the way through. Does anyone know where I can find one of these with either a 1/2" or 3/4"...

    PID recommendations for HLT

The idea is that the pump would run either while the element is on, or when it is turned off to cycle temp down to the correct temperature. I just want to turn it on at night and have water at the right temp when I get up to brew without babysitting it. After a couple brews, I'm sure I could...

    PID recommendations for HLT

I have a HLT that I am putting together and I need some advice on PID selection. I am using a 6000w 240V heating element, and I have the ability to recirculate with the tank I am using. I am looking for a PID that would be able to control both the heating element (via relay) as well as a 120V...

Any pics or tricks to cutting a keg bottom completely out?

I happened to have an extra lid from a 32qt stockpot I used to make a mini smoker, and it fit the keg perfectly. A lot of the 32qt pot lids (or any pot with a 14.5" diameter) are close enough to give a good fit for a keg. It definitely comes in handy - shaves at least 5-8 minutes off bringing...

8 Tap Jockey Box Value vs. DYI

I haven't seen an 8-product cold plate (sold separately anyways), but you can get 2 x 4 product plates at $180 or so plus shipping, a large cooler for $50-100, and 8 perlicks averaging maybe around $75 per faucet including hardware and lines. That puts you at around $1,100 for a brand new one...

    First commercial beer!

Yea I was a little surprised too, luckily this was just a sour mash so the mash tun (and plumbing) would be the only things infected, but there was a lot of chemicals ran through afterwards and it doesn't seem to have affected the batches made since. I know I would have been very apprehensive...

    First commercial beer!

I got to know the brewer over the last 6 months or so and had been helping out around the brewery, helped with a couple brews, etc. I told him about this recipe and brought in a bottle just for the sake of beer, and he ended up wanting to brew it!

    First commercial beer!

I just wanted to take a moment of personal pride here to announce the release of my first commercial beer in about 45 minutes! The beer is a sour mash Berliner Weisse, named Afternoon Delight and releasing at Paradise Creek Brewery in Pullman Washington. If anyone happens to be in the area...

    Drip Tray

I used about 10 hard drive magnets to hold a 19" drip tray to the side of my kegerator. It is strong enough to support a half-full pint glass, although I don't normally test that! Good luck!

    Cheapest batch you've ever made?

$3.50 batch of pale ale. Just a few pounds of two row (I buy in bulk), 3/4 ounce Belma hops, adjuncted with a lb of cornstarch packing peanuts in the mash that came with my last order from AHS! Not the best beer, but at least I can say I did it!
