    Capper trouble?

Same caps, same bottles, same capper I've been using for my previous 4 batches. I have only had problems with this batch. I suppose it is possible, but improbable. I have all American stuff! I will be careful about the caps I order next time tho. I will give this a try! Thank you! I...

    Capper trouble?

Hey guys, so I am not exactly a total newb anymore, but I am worried about my most recent batch. It's a pumpkin beer I have had bottle aging for about 3 weeks. I just went to open my first bottle and the cap came right off. As in, it didn't bend at all when I removed it. It is still perfectly...

Transferring from fermenting bucket into carboy and other questions

That was my intention initially, but it seems that doing the primary ferment in a car boy is not recommended unless I want to deal with it exploding all over the place or am willing to invest in more hardware. Like I said, this is not intended to be a constant thing, it's more of a time where I...

Transferring from fermenting bucket into carboy and other questions

Thank you everyone! It seems like the preference is to not rack into a secondary, but not that it cannot be done. I did think about getting another primary, but as I live in a studio apartment and have limited time (except during summer break) I probably will only be doing this as a one off this...

Transferring from fermenting bucket into carboy and other questions

Hello friends! I am in the midst of brewing batches #3 and #4, an Amarillo APA and a Simcoe IPA. I started the APA last Sunday and would like to try to get the IPA going on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Would it be alright if I rack the APA from my fermenting bucket into my carboy so that I can...

Preparing for my second batch... A few questions.

Thank you! I did those things, it was just that the gunk was floating so loosely in the fermenting bucket that I wasn't sure if that was normal or not. I will be sure to rinse well this time with just water.

Preparing for my second batch... A few questions.

Hello friends! I am preparing to brew my second batch on Saturday (it is the Power Pack Porter kit from Midwest, and I'm adding in the vanilla beans). I wanted to ask a few questions. 1) My last brew, the RedHook ESB kit from midwest, came out tasting fine (albeit a little dilluted tasting)...

    Hello from Denver, CO

Hello all! I'm new to home brewing, but not new to beer. I'm a fanatic who is taking the leap to the next extreme. I've got the beginner 5-gal set up from MidWest supplies, complete with an immersion chiller. I'm hoping to crank out my next batch on Saturday. My first was the RedHook ESB...
