I've made this it needs to sit in the fermenter longer and bottles taste green until the 4th week most beers need to ferment 2-3 weeks not the 7-10 days the kit says

Looking to make a 5 gallon extract lemon lime ale but I'm not sure how much zest to use or if I should use juice? I've head lemon zest if more powerfull that lime? any idead would be great.

Bagged ice can have bacteria. I boil 3 gallons of tap water. freeze 1 gallon of spring water. pour wort over frozen spring water and top off with cold spring water while it sits in a ice bath. I prefer stainless steel pots over aluminum because sometimes aluminum can give off metallic flavors...

I have been using hopville.com for my recipes and my original gravity is not coming up as high as the suggested OG and I'm not sure why. I cool my wort down to 70 then check with my hydrometer before pitching with my yeast last recipe it estimated 1.065 but I got 1.048.

I always rinse mine out after use. then on bottling day 1st thing in the morning I run mine in the dishwasher wit no soap. then rinse out with starsan and bottle.
