Question for those of you who have the Brewer's Equip RIMS Tube

To those who have bought this... It appears as though this would be difficult to clean. Any concerns there or is it pretty accessible from the openings? Also, it seems like it would be very difficult to make sanitary welds on the inside of the tube. How do the welds look on the inside of yours?

    Therminator or equivalent

Well, thermodynamics doesn't really apply, but heat transfer certainly does. In a plate chiller (or CFC) you have 3 stages of heat transfer going on. The first is convection from the hot wort to the copper in the HEX. The second is conduction through the copper. The third is convection to...

    Therminator or equivalent

There is no performance-related reason to run the cooling water slower (for IC, CFC, or Plate). The only reason to slow the cooling water is if you are "water conscious" and don't want to use/waste as much. The hot wort should be throttled so that it exits at the correct temperature.

    cleaning carboys

I'm also curious about carboy cleaning techniques. I have yet to try it, but my idea is to put a partially filled carboy upside-down in a bucket of water so that the level is above (below when right-side-up) the fermentation crud. Or you could just fill the whole carboy with solution.

kegs, are they really this elusive??

Guys, search for kegerators on c-list. I was getting minimal response to my want ads, but when I started emailing people who were selling their kegerators, most had a keg (or three) to get rid of. I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. good luck

    Kill-A-Watt Brewery Build Compilation

after putting my keggle system together and agonizing over details that would save a few dollars, I couldn't imagine punching holes in a 900$ blichman system. Must be nerve racking. You must have nerves of steel.

What should I do with my keg dip tube?

Just got done disassembling and cutting my kegs for keggle conversion and I don't know what to do with the dip tube/ball valve assembly. Any ideas for projects? Also, what's the best way to take the dip tube assembly apart?
