Converting a 60 QT cooler into a mash tun?

Resurrecting an old post here but I just bought the same cooler online for under $30. My question is since the drain hole is so high off the bottom how do you get all the wort out? Do you have to give it a tilt?

    My Pale Ale

This is EXACTLY what I thought when I first read the OP. In fact it isn't hard to do. And the yeast is actually better on the additional pitches up to about the 5th.

Easy Partial Mash Brewing (with pics)

thats what I was thinking. I also just found out one of my LHBS is starting to offer BIAB classes in addition to their other offerings. I think partial mash and BIAB is getting more popular. :)

    Secondary Fermentation?

NOT Never... Rack when you need your primary for another batch!

    First batch bottled!

I bottled my first batch yesterday. Smelled awesome. The sample in the thief jar tasted great. Now I need patience! One thing I read is make sure that beer you just bottled stays in the dark. I put mine in a cooler and slid it into a closet.

    Chicago Water

Arlington Heights posts theirs online. Its the Evanston water. http://www.vah.com/assets/1/public_works/2011_Water_Quality_Report_(3).pdf And this is from an older link here: Hey everybody in Evanston, IL, I have the water report for all the minerals and whatnot... pH: 7.8 Total...

    Chicago Water

Look to see if you can find a current Evanston water report. The source is the same but they do their own analysis. Not sure if they treat the water the same but that shouldn't change the mineral numbers.

Why Would Steeping Grains Include 2 Row?

For a mini mash like this do you mash with the specialty grains mixed in with the base malts at the same time?
