    Upgraded Fermenter, Small Pot

Issue I had with the cooler was adjusting for the coolers thermal capacity BrewTarget didn't seem to give me the right strike water temp, now I'm just wrapping my pot. If I calc for a 4% beer there is so much grain it's at 1.10qt per lb mash instead of 1.25. Can't afford to buy DME lol

    Upgraded Fermenter, Small Pot

Hey all, My wife bought me a 6.5G Fermonster for my birthday. While this is excellent and highly exciting I'm stuck with a 4G pot. My last brew day I did a 5.5G AG batch and attempted to do a partial boil. Issue 1 being it damn near overfilled my pot trying to keep the 1.25q/lb ratio...

    Full Hard Lemonade recipe

I did good with this measuring bottle carb like I do beer, and using Xylitol to back sweeten. One poor girl had to leave shortly after the party started cause it hit her a bit hard

    Full Hard Lemonade recipe

One thing I did that worked fairly well. I fermented for 2 weeks, then brought it up to room temp for a day to make sure it was good. I added just enough sugar to carbonate with before I bottled, and back sweetened with Xyletol at bottling. Worked really well

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I tried specific heat of .4, instead of the default .39, either way still shoots way high. I have a 5gal Igloo cooler from Lowe's. Both the grain and the cooler are home temp (74f) prior to mash, and I input 154 as the desired temp. I ran another strike calc and it came in way lower. Like 161. I...

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

Not entirely certain but it looks like the strike temp may be high. 4lb of Marris Otter into the cooler, 2.25 gal of water. It calculated 171 degrees, but after the hour mash it was still at 162. I have the numbers plugged in for the cooler, maybe it just insulates better than expected?

    Brewtarget 2.0 Update

I use the Mash Des. Button, and have with good success. I like being able to see total collected wort (approx). Using the software, have for almost a year now. Haven't had too many issues.

    Freezer Fermenter

I inherited a 5.1CF Freezer with my house. Prior owners left it behind. I bought the Inkbird for it and it has been doing quite well for me. I built the shelf to hold the two Mr Beer kegs I still use for Fermenting my AG batches. I have a fan circulating the air from below. See Below...

Inkbird itc-308? $35 gets you wired, 2 stage temp controller.

Just got mine finally (funding issue), no issues as of yet with 3 x 3L water bottles in my 7CF Chest Freezer. I have been waiting on this since we moved back in June to start brewing again. This weekend will be a nice little brew day!
