I dont mind them that much. I don't think that I would use them everyday at work, but they have there applications. Just seemed like this would be best for the situation.
I know that they make an old work style box that you can install next to a stud and it has screws to fasten to the stud

Built mine last night. I ripped a fan out of a "junk" computer at work, as well as the old hard drive for the magnets. I used an old 12v power supply that I had laying around. I didn't use a on/off switch I figured I would just unplug it. Soldered my wires and mounted the fan. Thing works great...
