    Rushing into All Grain?

I'm new to all grain as well, but I don't think I'll go back to extract now that I jumped into the deep end. There are a lot of people here that do the same thing your talking about. I dug around on this forum and got every answer I needed to make great beer. Take a look at the DIY section and...

    glass full of foam

I tried the tip from Bizoune about gently stirring out some of the CO2 because I had a dinner party tonight and the beer was perfect. I'm not sure of the long term affect but it worked in a pinch.

    Ventilation

Trigger you sound like you know more than me about this but I have to think that two fans exchanging fresh air would out pace burners, especially if placed on opposite walls or corners. Fans would pull fresh air in while across the room another would push air and gasses out. The updraft...

    Ventilation

If your comfortable losing whatever little heat is down there you could pull air in through a window using box fan blowing in and a second box fan blowing out of another window on the opposite wall. Total bill would be under $30-40. I am by no means an expert though as i live in the deep south...

    any recommendations for a Mac?

CP's Brew Chart. I'm new to brewing and bought Beer Alchemy before I saw this forum site. It's free and can be easily searched for the link to download it. It is built on Excel though, so it may be a deal breaker for some. I used it with next to no brewing skills (4th batch and 1st all grain)...

    CP's Brew Chart 2.0

I wanted to thank you for the help with my questions. I brewed my first all grain today and your spreadsheet is money in the bank. It told me I should be at 1.052 and I ended up giving a little bit more to the turkey fryer gods and ended at 1.053. Fixed it with a little bit of sanitized water...

    How long does fermentation last?

Depends on lot of variables. Days to weeks...... I have a week and a half old wheat that still has two inches of foam and a big bubble every two seconds. She will stay there until no signs of life even if that is weeks. Then I'll check the gravity and let it sit some more if it's not were i...

    Stroke of luck!!

Gunfighter, you my friend, are a genius. Well, I learned something new today in my "new to me" adventures in brewing. If you have three fermenters going in the same room and one of them is an explosive wheat and honey, the smell will drive a 7 month pregnant women insane. I'm either gonna get...

    Stroke of luck!!

I have lurked around here on the site and none of you guys told me the magic secret on how to get yourself a better set up. Well for those who are still in the dark, and have a wife who is a neat freak, destroy the kitchen three days in a row. Make sure you spill LME and DME on the floor in...
