Easy Stovetop All-Grain Brewing (with pics)

You can boil a slightly lesser volume and use top up water to get to a 5 gallon batch size. But yes, at least a 7 gallon pot would be preferred.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

You know, I wonder about this. I wouldn't want my graff to be more bitter, but I'm not sure a bit more hop flavor or aroma would be a bad thing. Combined with pumpkin, I can't say. I'm having a hard time imagining it all, frankly. It sounds good, but I'm never sure pumpkin translates well into a...

    Galaxy dancing partner

Cascade works well with galaxy. So does Willamette, in my one batch experience with galaxy.

    Pellicle Photo Collection

Thank you. That is both good and bad news. Good in that all is not lost, bad in that this was brewed for a smash contest next month!

    Pellicle Photo Collection

Can anyone help identify this? Also, a question: This was unintended. I did not notice a pellicle in the primary, only in the secondary as shown. It has been there about a week. Final gravity when I racked it was 1.010 on an ordinary bitter, so this isn't a high alcohol brew. When would it be...

    Vienna Bitter Smash

If you maintain a consistent grain to water ratio with a larger grain bill, you have to lower the sparge volume, right? I thought sparge was a pretty big player in efficiency.

Saison Boulevard Smokestack Series Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale Clone

Mash low - we shot for 151F Ferment hot - like 85-90F with 3724 yeast Our version isn't nearly as funky as the real thing, but it is dry and refreshing. The BJCP description for saison says effervescent, if I recall, so carb up!

    Vienna Bitter Smash

I mashed at 152F for a little more than an hour (things got busy) and I split the hops up as suggested. I did 1.5 oz FWH, 1 oz @ 10 min, .75 oz @ 5 min, .75 oz @ 1 minute. I added about a teaspoon of gypsum and irish moss. It is summer, so I couldn't chill it as well as I wanted. I got it down...

Anyone for a 80 acre hoppy wheat?

I couldn't get Nelson Sauvin, so I used Citra. And Wyeast 3333 German wheat yeast. This is very good beer! Thanks

    Boulevard Brewing 80 Acre clone???

What would you mash at for a single infusion? I have never done step mashing.

    Graff problem//and THNX HBT

It may end up being pretty dry, but you could add a non fermentable sugar before you bottle it.

Just got the new "Cereal Killer" Grain Mill

I like mine. Factory setting seemed too big, so I ratcheted it down. The factory didn't have the adjustment knobs on the same, so the indicators point to two different sizes is my only complaint, but I wouldn't trust the markings much either way. Get some gauges.
