Brewed this yesterday as my first all grain batch. Undershot the volume a little, but the OG was 1.056, so I'm happy! Smells and tastes promising! Thanks for the recipe :mug:
We'll need to know a little more about your process before we can give you any advice.
Did you take gravity readings? Are you fermenting in a bucket? What temp are you fermenting at? Is there any krausen or any visual indicator of fermentation/infection?

I wouldn't use them if I were you. I rinsed thoroughly with one of those faucet bottle washers, and it wasn't enough.
Could be worse though! At least you didn't put a batch of homebrew in them yet! :D
I believe mongoose means you can leave the lid on when trying to get to boiling temperatures. When you are doing the boiling, you should leave the lid off.
What cleaning agents are you using? I made the mistake of using scented Oxyclean to de-label bottles, and the batch had a seemingly similar taste. Even a thorough rinse before sanitizing/bottling didn't prevent the problem.
