I recently bought a twelve pack of Sam Adams White Ale and I'm not too crazy about it. I recently tried Dogfishhead 90-Minute IPA for the first time ever and every since then everything else just seems too mild for me.
So, in a (drunken) effort to up the bitterness on this, I took a pinch of...
The Free the Hops movement here in Alabama just got a law introduced here to legalize homebrewing (among other brew related laws). I wish Utah the best of luck in getting this passed. That way hopefully AL will finally de-criminalize my hobby. I'm hoping state legislators wouldn't take to kindly...
I'm about to start all grain brewing and was wondering if there was a general rule-of-thumb for how much malt to include in my recipe? I'm thinking about making a dark rye ale recipe of some sort.

Cheers! :mug:

I'm really trying to get this on a budget (having to save for a wedding at the moment) and I really can't...
Hey all,
I am really wanting to start AG, but I am not completely sure on all of the equipment I need. I was going to make my mash/lauter tun out of a big cooler like I've seen many other people do. Other than that, what do I need to get this stuff going?
Anytime I have Guinness I usually have a couple of Reisens chocolates with it. The flavors don't really mesh that well, but I like it!
I also have english muffins with any sort of beer, they always seem to go well together for me.
Yeah, we don't have basements in alabama. You'd think Jesus said he hated them in The Bible or something. Not a basement in the whole state. I envy you yankees and your basements and walk in attics :(
