Yes, I was drinking. I was cutting apart an extension cord. Getting things ready for the next days brew. Made a porter, named it 9 Stitches Robust Porter.

    Post your brew day injury

It wasn't a brew day injury but an injury resulting from building a fermentation temp controller. Sliced my thumb open, 9 stitches.

    Bottlecap Bartop

As far as keeping bottle caps flat when opening, use a lighter. Hell, you can use anything, really. Just gotta know the method.

    Water Filter

Also, I like to flush mine for a few minutes before each brew day.

    Water Filter

On my hose I cut the end off and added a swivel barb which happens to spray where it swivels. I corrected that by adding an additional rubber washer on top of the rubber washer that was in place. Probably could have done it differently, but it works.

    Water Filter

A gallon a minute or just under is what I run as well.

    Water Filter

I also change my filter yearly, although they are probably good for more than that, depending on how many gallons you put through them.

    My SCT-1000 Fermentation Temp Controller

The hand, ha. I've been thinking about making a tap handle out of it somehow.

    Water Filter

I take it all apart, air dry, and store it in my hlt with my hoses and stuff. As for cost, I don't recall exactly but some where around $50 maybe. Its paid for its self at this point.

Missing from the pic is the boil kettle that is just on a burner stand on the ground. I figure why build when the truck does the trick.

    Water Filter

I put this together last year, got it at Lowe's, simple, easy, works. I'm using an RV hose, not sure if its needed but I'd rather have it just to be sure. The copper on the outlet runs to the bottom of the HLT. I'm proud of it.
