    Black floaties in keg beer.

Thanks guys. I will head to the LHBS and work on cleaning the whole keg hopefully this weekend. Is it fine just to disconnect the keg while I do all of this as far as cleaning/replacing the entire keg? Oh, and it at least has not been contributing to an off flavors, it just LOOKS bad, haha...

    Black floaties in keg beer.

I bought a kegerator from a buddy of mine almost a year ago. With every batch I have had since then (probably 6 total) I have noticed little black floaties that show up in the beer. I have clean and sanitized the hell out of the keg and have no idea where these could be coming from. There are...

    Milky, off color IPA...

It turned out okay, not as well as i was hoping. I was expecting it to be very crisp and clean tasting but it was hard to pick any specific hop out in the flavor. It really cleared up after i let it sit in the carboy and especially after refrigeration. Still not sure what happened that made...

3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

Going to make this this upcoming weekend. Just a few questions as it will only be my 5th all-grain batch. 1) Batch size says 6 gallons. I am assuming this will yield 5 gallons in the keg? 2) I am planning on using the London 1968. I am shooting to mash at 152 for 60 mins, right? Really...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

I made this and had a sample just before I bottled it. It had a really strong coffee taste on the front end. I plan on letting this one age for a while before I start drinking. How much can I expect the coffee taste to mellow over time?

    Milky, off color IPA...

Just don't pack the bags tightly. The hops should have plenty of room to roam in the hop bag and they are really easy to put in and take out of the carboy.

    Milky, off color IPA...

I tasted a sample last night and it tasted good, I racked it to a new carboy last night. Now it's just a waiting game to see how clear it will get over the next few weeks. Feeling much better about this batch now than I was three weeks ago but I guess that it usually how it goes, haha.

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

Update, here is what mine looks like now. It was initially cream colored after sitting in the primary for two weeks. I transferred it to the secondary and it has been there for the last three weeks. It has cleared up quite a bit but seems cloudy still. There is also a buildup of gunk on the...

    Milky, off color IPA...

Here is what it looks like as of 20 mins ago. There is a lot of stuff on the sides of the carboy. I am thinking of transferring it again to get the yeast active a little so it will clear up a little bit more before bottling. It still seems a little too cloudy for me to feel comfortable...

    Milky, off color IPA...

Haha, yeah those are hop bags. do you think i should bottle it after a week of dry hopping or try to chill it while it is in the fermenter somehow?

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

They didn't have the yeast the recipe called for but recommended a yeast for a 5 gallon batch they said works great for ipas... I hope you are right, all of the comments in this thread had me really excited about this batch...

    Milky, off color IPA...

i followed the recipe closely. the hbs suggested a different type of yeast since they didn't have the kind the recipe called for but said it was great for ipas. how could wild yeast have gotten into my beer? i am pretty religious about sanitizing and this has never happened with any other...

    Milky, off color IPA...

I made the Dogfist IPA clone from this post... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f69/dogfish-head-60-minute-clone-ag-extract-25709/ I posted the question in that thread too but am just a little anxious about this one. It has a really milky look to it and the color is way off for an IPA. I let it...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

I think I am having a problem with this. I transferred this one tonight to the secondary after letting it sit in the primary for two weeks. It has come out with a really strange color and is very milky. The color looks way off and the smell is very yeasty. This has not happened to me before...
