Brewing a barleywine (my first) and a smaller beer off of the 2nd runnings. Haven't put a huge amount of thought into the smaller beer. Just hope it's tasty.
Today i am brewing my first barleywine. Also, it will be my first partigyle brew. First lesson - I need a bigger mashtun. my 10 gallon is good, but i needed a 12 gallon to get 21lbs. of grain and 9.25 gallons of water mixed correctly. had to draw off .5-.75 gallons of liquid. i will have to...
Bottled my first lager, a Marzen/Oktoberfest, at the LHBS. Got 2 Big Mouth bubblers delivered. Watched Robbie Lawler get starched by Tyron Woodley (who saw that coming?). Whew.
I have been wanting to brew since Tuesday, but couldn't find the free time until this a.m. Woke up at 5 and began brewing at 6:15 a.m. At the end of the session i hope to have a tasty Palisade/2 row SMaSH fermenting away!
I have two SMaSHes for this month. soon after i will begin a barleywine that i have been wanting to try. I have a Marzen fermenting that i need to bottle before 8/1.
update: I just translated the two largest words (thanks Google!) врење КВАСАЦ = "fermentation Yeast" so we are off to the correct start.
