    Getting some beer from Germany

So a friend of mine is on vacation in Germany for the next 2 weeks. He's quite willing to bring back a few bottles of whatever I tell him to try and pick up, but therein lies my problem. I've never really been big into the German beer thing, I drink mostly my own and my local craft brewerys...

    Skeeter Pee Carbonation

You could always skip the stabalization process that halts fermentation, back sweeten with an unfermentable sugar, like lactose or something, and use dextrose when you bottle to produce carbonation.

    Skeeter Pee

Wonder how long this stuff keeps, have 5 gallons of it sitting in a sealed carboy for like 3 months. Not bottled/used due to lack of available bottles. Think it's still good? Still crystal clear and no obvious mold or anything in it.

Teenagers in house - how to secure kegs?

Education on the dangers of booze is one way....I personally found education on the dangers theft...especially the theft of dads beer to work best. You can paint a much more vivid picture of the consequences of that. Other then that though, I don't generally deny my kids a beer if they ask...

    Skeeter Pee

Hmm, the issue I guess was in converting liters to oz. Being in Canada, the bottles were marked with liters. The ones I used were about .9 liters iirc. Anyone know roughly how many oz to the liter?

    Skeeter Pee

I used 3 bottles of that size. I think that's 96oz. I have not however, tried it chilled yet. I just sweetened a room temp glass of it and tried that. Should I try chilling it for a few weeks? Perhaps that would bring out the lemon flavor some?

    Carbonated skeeter pee

Pretty sure you can carb it by using a non-fermentable sugar to sweeten, and regular old priming sugar to carb,

..I used 100% pure lemon juice I think. Crap, was that the mistake? I used http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2010/gallery/040610-Real-Lemon-400.jpg

    Skeeter Pee

Just tasted my skeeter pee after letting it sit for a month after stabing and sparkaloiding it. I get almost no detectable lemon flavor. It just tastes like a very very weak red wine. Has a very pleasing crystal clear pink color, but unfortunatly, no lemon flavor :(

Might have messed up my bottling

Been in bottles for about 5 weeks @ 68 degrees.

Might have messed up my bottling

So I bottled a batch of honey chocolate brown ale about a month ago, but I didn't gave a pre-measured amount of bottling sugar made up. So of course, I eyeballed it from a 2kg bag. I think I ended up on the low side. Opened one today, very faint pfft, very little carb or head. So what I'm...

    Glass coke bottles?

That's actually more or less exactly what I want them for. I have some rough lumber, I'm going to sand it a bit, varnish it, and make sort of like old fashioned milk bottle crates, only sized for the small coke bottles. I'm planing on putting a mix of Apfelwein, Skeeter Pee, maybe a few other...

    Glass coke bottles?

I've been hunting up a source of clear glass bottles, and hit on those delightfully cute little 237ml Coke bottles. Perfect size for what I want to package in them. But my question is, has anyone ever used these? Do normal crown caps seal them alright?

    Skeeter Pee

Just made my first batch of this tonight, and had a quick question. I tossed the lees from some red wine I had racked about a week ago into it. The lees were kept in a freezer bag at room temp for about a week, and I had tossed a 1/4 cup of corn sugar in just to keep the yeast happy. Kind of...
