You can't go blind by drinking homebrew. It's a myth. Somehow you are confusing the consumption of methyl alcohol which is something so entirely different you'd be better to google and research yourself.

i put it through a secondary for a week because i like it to be a bit cleaner before i keg.
while my wits have been "quick" beers, i still would give it at least 4 weeks before popping into those.
