The intention of the flameout hops is aroma and a small amount of flavor. Both of those are diminishing the longer they are in hot wort. Your plate chiller will save more flavor and aroma than an immersion chiller.

I built this about a year ago based on a lot of inspiration from this forum. I know it's been along time to see these pictures but hey, better late than never.
I think the point is that the ABV is based on the difference btwn the high gravity reading and low gravity reading. But since he doesn't truly know the high b/c of the extra sugar from the fruit his OG isn't accurate.

Grand Cru is not a style. It is simply a wine term moved over to the beer world. With beer it is usually what a brewery considers to be their best offering.
As a test, try Blue Moon Grand Cru, and Rodenbach Grand Cru back to back.
Storage might be a problem, but the only thing I use the pot is for brewing. It's only a 5 gallon pot I'm only doing extract brews. I guess a weldless option is best so I can move it to another pot if I get one?
I just got a new counterflow chiller for christmas, and now I need either a kettle valve or a metal racking cane. I know the racking cane is much cheaper, and I don't mind the extra effort of siphoning, but I just wanted the thoughts of the people with more experience.

I wanted to bottle a batch of beer tonight, but I don't have enough caps. All the local homebrew places are closed on mondays. Is there any place I can buy caps aside from a homebrew place? I really wanted to do this tonight.
