    I killed my hops.

So I bought two rhizomes about 6 weeks ago. I planted them in pots to get them started and they were doing great. Well, I've gotten really busy with some emergency construction on my house. I checked my hops and they are dead. No life at all. If I plant then now will they still grow now or next...

Sunup Brewing staff doesnt know about their own beer?

I don't care how much you get paid. You sought out that job. They serve german food and german beer. You have to expect people to ask questions, and given the nature of your job, its your responsiblity to be able to answer those questions. Also, just because you have a bad day, you have no...

Sunup Brewing staff doesnt know about their own beer?

No, there was only 4 of us and the tip was not included. I told my friend to report her but he is very "non confrontational". So my wife called and bitched them out. She was told that if the person with the card calls the matter would be resolved, as if that should matter. He never called...

Sunup Brewing staff doesnt know about their own beer?

I hate when that happens! We went to a german restaurant a few towns over from us. I was really psyched about trying some real german beer. Anyways, we get there so I ask a few questions about their selection and what they would compare too. This ladies face was actually turning red! It wasn't...

Once you go all-grain, do you ever go back?

I'm not opposed to going back to extract, it's just that I have really good LHBS here in CT with great prices on all grain stuff. So I guess it would be the cost for me that keeps me to all grain. I also like the control and knowing exactly what's going into my beer.

    Connecticut brewers

Just started all grain. I've done three so far and they came out great. More than welcome to come and hang, but I'm up in terryville! Also, my equipment is really not impressive but does a great job. I believe in building a lot of things eather than spend a fortune on store bought things.

    Hops in Ct

Unfortunately, the guys in east hartford do not carry hop rhizomes. I buy all of my specialty grains from them. The guy in hartford can kind of be a hardass if you just go in there and ask for grains. He wants you to email ahead of time. The problem with that is I brew on a whim sometimes.

    First lager

Hey all, going to be doing my first lager this weekend and I have a few questions. 1. When you pitch the yeast, do you primary at room temperature or lower? 2. When lager is it best to go secondary to get it off the yeast cake? 3. When lagering, do you gradually bring the temperature down to a...
