    idea for tower cooling?

I ran my lines through 1/2" copper encased in insulation and cross-braced the copper in the cooler with additional copper tubing for better thermal transfer. I'm very pleased with the results and there are no moving parts to break or make noise. I have no foam issues, though I'm not sure if...

    Hickory Keezer

I put LED strip lights behind the taps today. Used parts from an under/over-cabinet lighting project a while back. The switch is a touch switch hidden behind the tap board. I used F-channel attached to the top of the back splash to support the lights. LED strip lights are a really nice...

Beer lines from keezer to counter top

How about using a swim noodle to insulate the lines? They are flexible and provide insulation. Your first pull might be a bit foamy and/or warm but it's a cheap and elegant solution. I'm assuming it wouldn't be seen?

Keezer question- do I need a secondary regulator?

I have two regulators for four taps. So far I've used the extra regulator to force carb a cider then cranked it down to about 8 psi. I have sparkling water on tap at the moment because I haven't brewed in a while but didn't think about cranking up the pressure for that. I think two regulators...

Keezer w/ tower on wheels? PITA or the solution

The beer sloshes around a bit but I don't think there is much of a quality issue. I rolled my keezer across the street to my buddy's house for a party and didn't notice any unusual cloudiness.

Almost forgot. On tap now. Rauchbier, Sour Barrel Aged Biere de Garde, Arkansas Black/Baldwin Apple Cider, American Barleywine.

    Hickory Keezer

Done...mostly, I have a little caulking to do but I'll wait until it is in the house to do that. My buddy who helped on this project is having a party on Saturday so we will wheel it across the street for one night before it finds it's final resting place in my basement. The finishing was...

    Perlick tap shank spacers

Yes, 1/4" greater than standard black plastic collars. The stainless piece is only about 1/8" taller than the plastic piece but the shank is recessed about 1/8" into the plastic piece and is not recessed in the stainless piece which accounts for the additional distance.

    Perlick tap shank spacers

Adventures in Homebrewing has stainless shank collars that give you an additional 1/4" installed. There isn't any information about dimensions on the website but I just measured the ones I have. If 1/4" will do it this is exactly what you were originally asking for.

    Antique kegerator build

Very cool! Reclaimed barn wood? What is the top?

I only know what I've read. It's my understanding water based poly tends to yellow over time more than oil based. I'm not a big fan of oil based because it's more toxic and a pain to clean up but I've spent a lot of time (and money) on this project and don't want to cut corners. I'm going to...

    Hickory Keezer

The finish I'm looking for requires oil based polyurethane so I'm going to have to deal with VOCs. This project has already taken six months what's a few more days.:D

I attached the copper to the backing board yesterday. I used 5 mil copper attached to MDF with DAP contact cement. The copper cuts easily with scissors or a razor blade. I outlined where the board was supposed to go with a Sharpie and cut out the corners accordingly. My buddy and I applied the...

I looked into procuring horse piss - race horse piss specifically, I hear they have to piss a lot - but decided to let the pros handle the patina and bought the design I posted above. :D

:off: I do. That's intriguing. I wonder how easily hickory turns? It might be worth a shot.
