We've brewed this 3 times in the last 6 years or so and about to brew it again. We've consistently had great reviews - even from people who "hate hoppy beers". My favorite review so far is "it's kinda like Mothman but better and without the sh!tty aftertaste!"
How did it turn out with the Cholaca vs the Cocoa powder? How much did you use and when did you add it?
Edit: That sounded very demanding and dickish - apologies. It's what I get for posting on here in between work and school.
What, if any, addititves did you use with the RO water? A local brewer I know has had success with using RO water and adding ACCUmash packets. I haven't tried this yet, but if you're tasting that big of a difference with this brew maybe I should...
Ok so I've been looking around and "whirlpool" means bringing the wort down to 170 then tossing in the hops for about 30 minutes after giving it a good stir to get a whirlpool going?
I've never dry/keg hopped before and after reading some of the reviews it seems that keg hopping is the way to go with this beer. I have a couple questions though. Do you use leaf hops? Once you have them in the bag in the keg do you just leave them there until the keg is done or do you pull...

I'm going to juice the pomegranates and add that and the seeds (the sweetest part I'm told) to the secondary I think. Thanks for the advice, may I ask how much juice you used that was too much?
Hey folks, my buddy's fiance wants a pomegranate beer, I've never done a fruity beer before so I'm looking for a little help with this recipe. I was thinking a lighter ale or lager and adding pomegranate juice into the fermenter with the wort. Thoughts and suggestions? I am still extract/partial...
Ok so if I'm adding 2-row I should use 1/2 lb for 1 lb of oats right? Or should I count the weight of the other specialty grains as well into it? Also if I'm going for an hour should I wait until the last 30 to add the specialty grains so they're not steeping the whole hour?
Hello friends! I've found a stout recipe that I want to make into an oatmeal stout. It's a partial grain (I don't do AG yet) and I've been looking at what threads I could find on here so far and it seems like adding oats to an extract/partial grain is at best useless.
*However* I've seen a...
